Review of LG F3000
LG ELECTRONICS Malaysia has started the year with a bang by launching nine mobile phones that are divided into three categories. It seems like only yesterday that we were complaining about car-themed gadgets that “vroom” when you turn them on (actually it was three days ago), and here we are with another offender. The LG F3000 is a vaguely Porsche-looking cameraphone that not only emits some engine revs every time you flip it open, it actually honks at you when you receive a text message.
In the first category, dubbed the Black Temptation series, the company unveiled four new camera phones – the Pro P7200, Smooth S5200, Desire C3380 and Slim B2150. It also launched the sole non-camera model in the series – the Mirror C1150.
LG’s F3000 is a typical clamshell design. Measures 45 x 88 x 23 mm in size and weighing 100 grams, it is light and feels very slender despite its size.A perfectly adequate 65,000-color display is bright and crisp, and is a far step above the dim 4096-color versions on even the most recent LG models. The display resolution 128 x 160 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all LG handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
All phones in the Black Temptation family sport a sleek, black housing. Measuring 97.7 x 50 x 17mm and weighing 105g, the triband Pro P7200 is the series’ flagship model. Notable features include a 2-megapixel camera, a built-in flash, a 2in 262,000-colour internal display, 1.17in 65,000-colour external display and Bluetooth connectivity.
It also has an external memory slot that supports the T-Flash or Micro Secure Digital (microSD) formats and a built-in digital audio player. Next is the 1.3-megapixel S5200 camera phone. Apart from taking stills, it can record video with sound, has various image effects, built-in MP3 player, 64MB of built-in memory and Bluetooth connectivity. The other two models, the C3380 and B2150, come with a VGA camera, triband connectivity. The C3380 features Bluetooth.
Lastly the Mirror C1150 sports a clamshell design, 65,000-colour display, 16-polyphonic ringtones and has a mirror on the front cover. The remaining four phones are from the company’s Music Station and Sport Car line. Targeted young male professionals, the clamshell F3000 Sport Car model has a 1.3-megapixel camera, triband connectivity, 32MB built-in memory, Bluetooth connectivity and a mobile karaoke function.
Performance of Lg3000
Audio quality on the F3000 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 1000 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3 hours talk time or 200 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery’s theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 150 minutes.

LG F3000 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it’s quickly won our hearts. The typical LG design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn’t notice such little flaws. Hopefully these sounds can be changed/muted, because all in all the phone’s not half bad looking; unfortunately for stateside race rans, this little demon will be driven exclusively on the Autobahn.
