Available in two models presently, 30 Gb and 60 Gb, the video iPod can store up to 150 hours of video in addition to more than 15,000 songs.

The new iPod has more battery life as well. 20 hrs on a single charge. Yet, it is slimmer than the original iPod! The familiar click wheel has been retained, as have the other extra functions like the calendar and the address book.

You can watch the music videos on the iPod Video’s 2.5″ TFT screen. If required, the iPod connects to a TV via an S-Video cable for a big screen experience.

Prices start at USD 299 for the 30Gb model and USD 399 for the 60Gb model.

Philips recently launched new additions to its Xenium range of mobile phones

Philips recently launched new additions to its Xenium range of mobile phones, which was first launched in 1999. The two new phones are called 9@9i and 9@9e.

Philips has laid special emphasis on battery life and claims that these new phones will give up to one month of standby time or 8 and a half hours of talk time. Apart from extensive battery life, these phones also feature triband network coverage and a built in 1.3 mega-pixel camera with 4x zoom.

One can maintain an address book of upto 1000 entries and even store 30 minutes of voice recording on the phone’s 20 MB inbuilt memory.

Hard disk manufacturing specialists Maxtor

Hard disk manufacturing specialists Maxtor have just introduced a new shared storage drive with a capacity of 300Gb. With a spin speed of 7200 RPM and a 16Mb cache memory, the drive is intended for use in small office and home networks.

Maxtor claims 300 Gb to be good enough to hold 5,000 hours of MP3 music or 230,000 JPG. Apart from increasing storage capacity, this drive is a quick way of increasing shared storage space for connected PCs.

The drive also has 2 USB ports that can be used to connect printers, external hard drives or one of each. Maxtor claims the drive will easily integrate into small office and home networks.
